We invite you to watch the official trailer of the movie Palm Trees in the Snow released in the Warner Bros Spain channel of Youtube. The film has all the ingredients to make a blockbuster: an amazing production, a great cast led by Mario Casas and Adriana Ugarte, and impressive locations magically captured by the camera of the cinematographer Xavi Giménez.
Palm Trees in the Snow is an adaptation of the homonymous best-seller novel by Luz Gabás. In 1953 two brothers (Kilian and Jacobo), seeking for a new life, leave the Pyrenees in Huesca to reach their father who lives in the Fernando Po island in Africa. The social, cultural, political and climatological contrast they find compared with the mountains of the north of Spain will deeply transform them. The consequences of this are unfolded by Kilian's daugther, Clarence, who decides after finding an old letter from his father, to do the same trip he did a long time ago, in quest for answers. Little by little the story of a forbidden love emerges, transcending time and distance.
The film has been shot during seven months in Colombia, Gran Canaria and finally in Huesca where some chapters of the book actually happen. The crew members have found great condititions in the snowy mountains of the Pyrenees making their last shooting days fruitful. These have taken place in the valley of Pineta in Bielsa and the cross-country ski station of Llanos del Hospital in Benasque. The province of Huesca has supported this production through Huesca la Magia del Cine -the film department of TuHuesca (the society of tourist promotion for the province of Huesca)- and Huesca Film Office. The help of the local governments of Bielsa and Benasque has also been very valuable, as well as the collaboration of some local providers and extras. Once more Huesca has shown its film friendly character.
Palm Trees in the Snow is directed by Fernando González Molina, produced by Nostromo Pictures and Telefónica Studios, with the participation of Atresmedia, Canal+ and Warner Bros Pictures Spain.
